Even though Dr. Fadi Zaknoun makes every attempt to conserve and maintain your natural teeth, there are instances where a tooth or teeth might need to be extracted. A simple extraction removes a tooth that's visible over the gums. This is typically used for a tooth that's decayed or damaged and cannot be repaired. Our Wareham, MA office provides multiple sedation techniques, like nitrous oxide and oral-conscious sedation, which means you can stay comfortable during your treatment. Contact our team for more information or to schedule an assessment at Cape Cod Dental to enhance your oral health.

Dental extractions are done in our office with local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth being removed. Other types of sedation could be used to help keep you relaxed in case you have any dental anxiety. When you're ready, Dr. Zaknoun will start the procedure. To complete a simple extraction, Dr. Zaknoun will loosen up the tooth with a special device known as an elevator prior to removing the tooth. Dr. Zaknoun may write a prescription for antibiotics that should be taken before and after the procedure in case you have a current infection, if your immune system is compromised, if the procedure is lengthy, or if you have some other specific medical conditions.

The staff is always friendly, punctual and caring. Dr. Zaknoun is very professional and knowledgeable.
